Kate Perkins Art

At the core of my work is an exploration of the tension between chaos and
order. I am fascinated by the structures of both the natural and man-made
world, and by the human need to make sense of where and how we belong
within both. My work examines layers of interconnectivity with cells, maps,
and grids, forming fluid networks that reference biology, systems, and
organization. These structures attempt to resolve what often appears as
discord or chaos and to find the beauty in the unregulated. Through pattern
and repetition, I ritualistically and meditatively organize and investigate the
layered nature of relationships. I believe, these systems are never neutral;
they fragment, overlap, and mutate, reflecting how we navigate chaos
rather than fully resolve it.
